Journey Workshop with Columbia J-School students in a Brooklyn church basement

Thank-you for your interest in learning how we do our journeys in our postsecular city!

A Journey through NYC religions started on July 9, 2010 as an incubator for innovative ways of reporting, writing, and portraying religion through a National Geographic-like web magazine on religion in New York City. Since then, A Journey has attracted trust and respect from all religious and non-religious parties. In the first year of operation, our online magazine won the highest award for in-depth religion reporting from the Religion Newswriters Association (RNA). Since then, A Journey has been a finalist seven times for awards from RNA. In 2016, the work of our intern, Sadie Cruz, was a finalist for best student religion reporting in the United States.  A Journey through NYC religions is a non-profit corporation and also runs Journey Data Center and Journey Workshops.
